The group that was the go-to support group for Paul Revere and the Raiders, Jefferson Airplane, 13th Floor Elevator, Them with Van Morrison and any other big international act that came to the SF bay area between 1965-67. William Penn Fyve was a great SF group of the 60s. They wrote Swami/Blow My Mind the great cult classic. Geurssen Records has just released vinyl of this historic rock group. And Mike Shapiro, lead guitarist and writer of Swami/Blow My Mind has just release a remix of the 2003 release entitled William Penn And His Pals (The historic San Francisco group).
This group features Gregg Rolie on all but one of the songs within. It also has one cut with Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead playing as a second drummer before he joined Jerry and the boys. We were actually playing gigs later at the Circle Star theatre in San Carlos CA with the Grateful Dead.
